Warmer weather is slowly starting to creep in – and that means you’ll be wearing shorts and tank tops before you know it!

That’s why you’re interested in undergoing laser hair removal.  Innovative new technologies make it possible to enjoy smoother skin with minimal hair regrowth, so you can focus on what really matters.  These laser hair removal procedures also help minimize razor burn, bumps, dry skin, and other irritations associated with constant shaving and waxing.

But when it comes to irritations, how sensitive will your skin be after laser hair removal?

What to Expect During AND After Your Procedure

At Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. and Aesthetic Center, with locations throughout the Atlanta metro, including Marietta, Smyrna and Cartersville, our aestheticians specialize in safe and effective laser hair removal.  We use the LightSheer Duet Laser Hair Removal system, as it helps eliminate hair regrowth by heating and destroying the hair follicle.

It sounds intense, but clients only experience a slight warming, itching sensation during the procedure.  Clients may also experience redness and slight swelling immediately after the procedure; these side effects usually dissipate within a few days.

Clients may note that their skin feels more sensitive and irritated directly after the procedure.  This sensation is due to the fact that the hair follicles are continuously being heated, which can cause a prickly feeling.  Clients can use cooling or numbing creams to manage these symptoms.  Keep in mind that these side effects are temporary.

Clients should also wear sunscreen protection to protect sensitive skin against UV rays; this can help manage any skin irritation associated with laser hair removal and exposure to the sun.
