Natalie A. Mercado, MPAS, PA-C was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida, followed by her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Early in her career, Natalie worked in a rural health clinic with a pediatric focus while her husband was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. She then returned to Florida, where she spent ten years as an Interventional Radiology provider at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. There, she cared for critically ill patients and assisted in complex diagnostic and interventional procedures, gaining extensive experience in perioperative and postoperative care. She also worked in the vascular anomalies clinic, developing specialized experience in congenital diseases that often present with unique skin conditions.
While still in Florida, Natalie then transitioned into dermatology and later moved with her husband to the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. Her clinical interests include general dermatology, skin cancer detection and treatment, wound care, and patient education. She is known for her thorough approach, strong clinical skills, and compassionate bedside manner with patients of all ages.
Natalie is licensed by the Georgia Composite Board of Medical Examiners and maintains certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and has earned the SDPA Diplomate Fellowship in recognition of her advanced training. Natalie is fluent in both English and Spanish and is passionate about community outreach, including participation in local skin cancer screenings and educational initiatives.
In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, being outdoors, and cheering on the Florida Gators. She also enjoys interior design and decorating.
