Lauren E. Howland, PA-C, grew up in Newnan, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Public Health from University of Georgia in 2022. Following graduation, Lauren worked as a medical assistant with Skin Cancer Specialists in Cartersville before pursuing her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Mercer University, graduating in 2026.
During physician assistant school, Lauren completed clinical rotations in dermatology as well as plastic and reconstructive surgery. She continued to pursue her passion for dermatology throughout her training and was excited to return to Skin Cancer Specialists to begin her career as a physician assistant. Her clinical interests include skin cancer detection and treatment, acne, rosacea, and aesthetic dermatology. Lauren is passionate about early detection of skin cancer and patient education, and she strives to empower patients to better understand their skin and feel confident in both their skin health and overall well-being.
Lauren is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates, Society of Dermatology Physician Associates, and Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants Association.
Lauren currently resides in Newnan, Georgia, with her fiancé. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and walking on the LINC.
