Brandilyn K. Johnson, MSN, NP-C is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in Dermatology with vast professional experience in the realm of healthcare. A Mobile, Alabama native, Brandilyn obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of South Alabama before going on to complete her MSN degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Troy University. Brandilyn spent the first few years of her career as a traveling trauma/ER nurse working at several major Level 1 trauma hospitals across the country. While working in the ER at OHSU Medical Center in Portland, OR, she was offered a position as a pharmaceutical sales representative which is what brought her to Columbus, Georgia. After several years of being a top producing senior sales representative she had the opportunity to advance into the management role with the company, but she decided to pursue her goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner instead. Brandilyn fell in love with the specialty of dermatology during her final year of clinicals where she trained alongside three different Dermatologists. After having worked since 2012 at McLean Dermatology prior to Dr. Tammy McLean’s retirement, she joined Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. & Aesthetic Center in 2020 with extensive general and surgical dermatology experience. The focus of her practice is mostly general and surgical dermatology with an emphasis on annual skin cancer screenings. She was a preceptor for and trained Nurse Practitioner students while working in primary care and she has served as a preceptor for students in dermatology as well. Brandilyn has a genuine compassion for her patients. Her focus is to provide good quality care and to build lasting relationships with her patients and their families.
Brandilyn relocated from Columbus and is now living in Newnan. She has two sons (middle and high school age). She enjoys traveling, dancing, trying new restaurants, college football (Roll Tide!), playing tennis/staying active, and chilling on the beach – under an umbrella with lots of sunscreen, of course! One of her recent hobbies is that she is learning to speak another language. Her goal is to become fluent enough that one day she can aid in translating for patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of West Georgia, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners.
